Cornelia (Nellie) was born in 1856 in Itawamba County, Mississippi.1 Cornelia (Nellie)'s father was James Harry Livingston and her mother was Emily A. Monts. Her maternal grandparents were Adam Monts and Mary Elizabeth Sease. She had two brothers and six sisters, named John Joseph, George, Elizabeth, Barsellinia, Sophronia, Sarah, Leonides and Isabella. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
