Alpheus Cary Koon 
Alpheus Cary was born on December 26th, 1918 in Watertown, Florida.1 Alpheus Cary's father was Alpheus Cary Koon and his mother was Jennie Carlyle Powers. His paternal grandparents were Wiley Harrison Koon and Susan Nancy Wilson. He had two brothers and a sister, named Louis Lee, Wiley Emmett and Mary Emily. He died at the age of 50 on February 19th, 1969 in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.1 General Notes

He debuted with the St. Louis Municipal Opera Ballet in 1939. He danced
with Ballet Theatre (now American Ballet Theatre) from 194l-1945 after
which he jointed the Original Ballet Russe. In 1953, he formed the Tampa
Ballet, Tampa, FL.
