Katherine Isaminnie's father was John Jacob George and her mother was Frances Pearl Mauney. Her paternal grandparents were Nelson Benjamin George and Isabelle Shealy. She had five brothers and six sisters, named John Howard, Prentis Legare, Samuel Delmas, Sidney Spitzer, Virgil, Frances Linchen, Garcie Celestine, Marjorie, Mary Reba, Melba Kerne and Virgie.-
