Irini was born in 1066 in of Constantinople, Turkey.1 Irini's father was Andronikos Dukas of Byzantium Byzantine Emp and her mother was Marija of Bulgaria. Her paternal grandparents were Ioannis Dukas and Irini Pegonitissa; her maternal grandfather was Trajan Prince of Bulgaria. She was an only child.1 -
