Claiborne Crogham was born on December 31st, 1824 in Newberry Co, SC.1 Claiborne Crogham's father was John Jacob Dickard and his mother was Christina Riser. His maternal grandparents were Martin Riser and Christina Sease. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Charles Belton, David Adam, Susannah and Mary Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 70 on August 1st, 1895 in Texas.1 General Notes
