Dewey Lionel was born about 1922 in Lexington County, South Carolina.1 Dewey Lionel's father was Asbury Henry Amick and his mother was M. Blanch Shealy. His maternal grandparents were Andrew Pierson Shealy and Anna D. Koon. He was an only child. He died on February 16th, 2000. He was buried on February 19th, 2000 in Mt. Dewey Amick
Chapin - Services for Dewey Lionel Amick, 78, will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, February 19, 2000 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church with burial in
the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Webber. The
family will receive friends 6-7:30 tonight at Caughman-Harman Funeral
Homes, Chapin Chapel, which is in charge. Memorials may be made to Mt.
Horeb Lutheran Church Building Fund, the American Cancer Society, VFW or
Newberry College.
Mr. Amick died Wednesday, February 16, 2000. Born in Lexington Co., he
was the son of the late A. Henry and M. Blanche Shealy Amick. He was a
member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. He served in the Army Air Corp
during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Mercer Amick of Chapin; daughters, Anne
Hartman of Moreno Valley, Calif., Wanda Johnson of Hopkins, Karen
Whiteside of Little Mountain, Sharen Burt of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.;
sons, Steve Amick of Chapin, Brady Amick of Irmo; grandchildren, Carrie
McDermott, Cindy Hartman, Heather Shealy, Lisa Amick Weaver, Brandon and
Kelsey Flake, Bronwyn, Tatji and Channing Burt.
