Matthieu de Alsace 
Matthieu was born in 1137 in Flanders, Belgium. Matthieu's father was Dietrich II de Alsace and his mother was Sybil de Anjou. His paternal grandparents were Dietrich II de Lorraine and Gertrude de Flanders; his maternal grandparents were Foulques V de Anjou and Ermengarde du Maine. He had a brother and a sister, named Philip and Marguerite. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 36 on July 25th, 1173 in battle.-
