Bertrade was born in 1059. Bertrade's father was Simon I Montfort and her mother was Agnes d'Evreux. Her paternal grandparents were Amauri de Montfort and Bertrade de Gometz; her maternal grandparents were Richard de Evreux and Adele. She had a brother named Amauri III. She was the older of the two children.
