Her paternal grandparents were William Winston and Sarah Ann Jennings; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Bobby and Mary Geddes. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Geddes, John, Thomas, William, Lucy A., Mary Ann, Susanna and Elizabeth.-
