Pleasant was born about 1798 in Goochland Co., VA. Pleasant's father was Meriwether Thurston and his mother was Elizabeth Lowery. His paternal grandparents were William Bailey Thurston and Jean Jones; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Lowery and Elizabeth Goss. He had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Thomas, Maria L., Joanna and Peggy. He died before April 19th, 1824 in Goochland Co., VA.-
