John Thompson 
John was born on June 24th, 1744 in Albemarle Parish, Surry Co., VA. John's father was William Thompson and his mother was Hannah Bell. His paternal grandparents were William Thompson and Mary Clifton; his maternal grandparents were John Bell and Hannah ?. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Balaam, William, Susannah, Mary, Sarah, Hannah and Ann. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 67 in 1811 in Chatham Co., NC.-
