over the slave question. He went to Oquawka, IL. by horseback in 1833. The war
completely divided William Payne Toler and the Virginia Tolers according to
family information. "The Virginian", a novel was actually a Toler. Parents: Robert Brooke TALIAFERRO and Cicelia A. ELLETT.
She was married to William Payne TOLER on 19 Sep 1837 in Warren Co., IL.
