John was born on November 15th, 1728 in Elizabeth City Co., VA. John's father was Thomas Tabb and his mother was Mary Armistead. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Tabb and Mary Heyward; his maternal grandfather was Anthony Armistead. He had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary Marshall, Martha and Rachel. He died at the age of 67 on December 17th, 1795 in Elizabeth City Co., VA.-
