Martha was born on January 7th, 1773. Martha's father was Strangeman Stanley and her mother was Jemima Mills. Her paternal grandparents were James Stanley and Catherine Hutchins; her maternal grandparents were Hur Mills and Rachel ?. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Isaiah, Michael, Jesse, Samuel, Catherine, Abigail, Rachel and Jemima. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Elijah, Strangeman and Jemima.-
