Maria Louisa's father was John Stanard and her mother was Caroline Matilda Chew. Her paternal grandparents were Larkin Stanard and Elizabeth Perrott Chew; her maternal grandparents were John Chew and Ann Fox. She had two brothers named John Beverley and Hugh Claiborne. She died on November 20th, 1898 in Newark, New Jersey.-
