John Beverley was born about 1820 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. John Beverley's father was John Stanard and his mother was Caroline Matilda Chew. His paternal grandparents were Larkin Stanard and Elizabeth Perrott Chew; his maternal grandparents were John Chew and Ann Fox. He had a brother and a sister, named Hugh Claiborne and Maria Louisa. He died on January 24th, 1897 in Berryville, Culpeper Co., Virginia.-
