Robert Carter Sockett 
Robert Carter's father was Samuel Henry Sockett and his mother was Jane Pleasants Nicholas. His maternal grandparents were Hampden Bigelow Nicholas and Willie Sue Carrington. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Hampden Nicholas, Richard Carrington, Samuel Henry, Alice, Lucy Holt and Willie Sue.
