Christiana was born on December 23rd, 1745. Christiana's father was James Shields and her mother was Anne Marot. Her paternal grandfather was James Shields; her maternal grandparents were Jean Marot and Ann Pasteur. She had a brother and a sister, named James and Anne. She had three half-sisters named Elizabeth, Frances and Hannah.
