Thomas was born in 1705 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co., VA.  Thomas' father was Thomas Poindexter and his mother was Sarah Crawford.  His paternal grandparents were ? Poindexter and Elizabeth Efford; his maternal grandparents were David Crawford and Jane ?. He had a brother named John P..  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 92 on July 10th, 1797 in St. Paul's Parish, Hanover Co., VA.
