Walter Tazewell Payne 
Walter Tazewell was born on November 14th, 1826.1 Walter Tazewell's father was John Smith Payne and his mother was Susan Elwood Scott. His paternal grandparents were Phillip Payne and Elizabeth Dandridge; his maternal grandparents were William Scott and Nancy ?. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert G., John W., Philip W., Mary Clementine, Amanda V., Ann M., Susan E., Elizabeth S., Martha Harriett and Blanche T.. He died at the age of 96 on June 1st, 1923. He was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA.1 General Notes
