John James Payne 
John James was born on April 6th, 1883. John James' father was Henry Winston Payne and his mother was Joanna Grace Roberts. His paternal grandparents were Tarleton Fleming Payne and Susanna Gilliam; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Roberts and Eliza Ann Burleigh. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Alexander Clittus, Joseph Tarleton, Thomas Henry Lafayette, Virginia Hansford, Gertrude Pendleton, Ocie Winston and Nannie Essie. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 on January 25th, 1964.-
