Charity was born in 1766. Charity's father was Aaron Parrish and her mother was Sarah Binns. Her paternal grandparents were Humphrey Parrish and Mary Morton Hamilton. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Carter, Turner, Sarah, Elizabeth, Lucy, Martha Carter, Mary and Nancy.
