Mary Elizabeth was born on January 3rd, 1839 in Rockville, Hanover Co., VA. Mary Elizabeth's father was William Watson Nuckols and her mother was Harriet Catherine Nuckols. Her paternal grandparents were John William Nuckols and Elizabeth Nuckols; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Nuckols and Elizabeth Jerdone Toler. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert Smith, Archer Bolin, Frederic Toler, James T., Rice S., Annie Maria, Eugenia E., Laura Tina, Ida Payne and ?. She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 80 on April 15th, 1919 in Richmond, VA.-
