Nathaniel was born about 1724 in Surry Co., VA. Nathaniel's father was Henry Mitchell and his mother was Tabitha Branch. His paternal grandparents were Henry Mitchell and Mary Lockett?; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Branch and Elizabeth Archer. He had two brothers named Henry and Thomas. He was the youngest of the three children. He died on November 30th, 1768 in Sussex Co., VA.-
