James Augustus Melton 
James Augustus was born on December 25th, 1856 in Fluvanna Co., Virginia. James Augustus' father was John William Melton and his mother was Barbara Ann Seay. His paternal grandparents were Joel J. Melton and Rebecca Johnson; his maternal grandparents were Stephen Seay and Melinda Howard. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William Gordon, Edward, Bettie M., Willie E., Molly R. and Minnie L.. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 77 on October 30th, 1934 in Fluvanna Co., Virginia.-
