Andrew was born about 1762 in Louisa Co., VA.  Andrew's father was George Hunter and his mother was Mildred Austin.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Hunter and Jane ?. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Austin, David, Samuel, Lucy and Ann.  He was the second oldest of the six children.
