John W. was born in 1865. John W.'s father was William James Harlow and his mother was Susan E. Gilbert. His paternal grandparents were William C. Harlow and Matilda Bickley; his maternal grandparents were Richard Gilbert and Rebecca A. Johnson. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert Lee, William James, Andrew, Rebecca E., Matilda C., Sarah J., Louisa Minor, Ann Eliza, Adilla V. and Frances Elizabeth. He died at the age of 69 in 1934. He was buried in Macedonia Church, Louisa Co., VA.-
