Laura Augusta was born on September 7th, 1899 in Goochland Co., VA. Laura Augusta's father was Walter Payne Haden and her mother was Sallie Frances Davis. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Hopkins Haden and Sarah Jane Kennon; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Davis and Margaret Frances Mills. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Samuel Davis, Patrick Henry, Jackson William, Walter Linwood, Edwin Francis, Robert Hopkins, Hugh Harold, Wilfred Payne, Margaret Ellis and Sallie Alice. She was the youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 86 in 1985.-
