Virginia E. was born in 1851. Virginia E.'s father was Elkany Delaney Rush Fleming and her mother was Dorcus Vickery. Her paternal grandparents were John Fleming and Sarah Roberts. She had four brothers and five sisters, named George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Marcus Lafayette, William S., Cepita, Mary Ann, Margaret F., Telitha J. and Sarah E.. She was the second youngest of the ten children.-
