Elizabeth Grosvenor was born on December 8th, 1850. Elizabeth Grosvenor's father was William Austin Brockenbrough and her mother was Mary Carter Gray. Her paternal grandparents were Austin Brockenbrough and Lettice Lee Fauntleroy. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William Austin, Marius Carter, John Fauntleroy, Thomas, Lucy Yates, Catherine Wellford, Lettice Lee, Mary Randolph, Henrietta Nelson and Judith Branch. She was the second youngest of the eleven children.-
