Matthew Archer was born on August 25th, 1827. Matthew Archer's father was William Peyton Anderson and his mother was Mary Ann Goodwin. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Anderson and Martha Tanner. He had a brother and three sisters, named William Goodwin, Elizabeth Blades, Nicie Barbara and Martha Jane. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
