His maternal grandparents were Eliza B Ferguson and John Mc Madden. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Claude Claudie, Edward, Edwin, Roy Ferdinand, Quincy Clay, Maudie Beatrice, Ella and Essa O. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother named Ray. He died at the age of 75 on March 29th, 1944 in Pattonsburg, Daviess, Missouri, USA.-
