*William Gernon

*William was born in 1190 in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, England.¹ *William's father was John DeGrey and his mother was Isabel Basset. His paternal grandparents were Ralph De Gernon and Femname Bruce; his maternal grandparents were Lord Thomas Basset and Adeliza Alice De Dunstanville. He had two sisters named Eve and Agnes. He was the youngest of the three children. He had three half-brothers named Miles, Milo and Richard. He died at the age of 68 on December 4th, 1258 in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England.¹
