Adelaide was born in 1026 in Corbiel, Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France.1   Adelaide's father was "The Magnificent" Duke of Normandy Robert I and her mother was *Harlette De Falaise.  Her paternal grandparents were "Good" (Duke of Normandy) Richard II and Judith DeBretagne; her maternal grandparents were Fulbert Chamberlain De Falaise and Doda De Falaise. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Richard De Tonbridge et De Clare Fitz, William I the Conqueror, Nigelus, Odo Bishop of, Alixia, Adelaide 1, Emma and Godiva.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William I, Ranulph, Herlewin, Ranulph, Adeliza, Emma, Muriel and Maude.  She died at the age of 78 in 1104 in Gournay Sur Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Ile-de-France, France.1
