Maurice was born in 1398 in Beverstone, Gloucestershire, England.1 Maurice's father was Sir John DeBerkeley or De Berkeley or Berkeley and his mother was ELIZABETH LADY BETTERSHORNE. His paternal grandparents were Lord Thomas, 3rd Baron, The Rich, DeBerkeley or De Berkeley or Berkeley and Catherine or Katherine or Katharine Clivedon or Clyvedon; his maternal grandparents were John Sir Bisterne Betteshorne and Goda Betteshorne. He had a brother and two sisters, named Edward, *Elizabeth and Lady Alianore Berkeley. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 66 on November 26th, 1464 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, , England.1 -
