Jane was born in 1743 in Virginia, USA. Jane's father was Wilson Curle and her mother was *Priscilla Meade. Her paternal grandmother was Jane Wilson; her maternal grandparents were *Andrew Meade and *Mary Latham. She had six brothers and a sister, named David, Nicholas, William Roscoe, Andrew, Hamilton, *Wilson and Mary Latham. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had a half-sister named Mary Polly.-
