Her paternal grandparents were William Adams and Sarah; her maternal grandparents were *Paul Pigg and *Elizabeth Osborne. She had a brother and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Absalom, Millie, Rosamon, Milley, Molly, Susannah Sookey and *Absalom. She was the second oldest of the eight children.-
