Maj. William Dent

William was born about 1660 in Charles County,Maryland.  William's father was Hon. Thomas Dent of St. Mary's County, Maryland and his mother was Rebecca Wilkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Dent of Gisborough, Yorkshire, Eng. and Margaret Nicholson; his maternal grandparents were Rev. William Wilkinson of Yorkshire, England and Naomy Hewes. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Peter, George, Margaret and Barbara.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died in 1704.
