Count Konrad I De LUXEMBOURG

Konrad I De was born in 1039 in Trier, Rheinland, Prussia, Germany. Konrad I De 's father was Count Giselbert II De Luxembourg LUXEMBOURG and his mother was Nm Zu SALM. His paternal grandparents were Count Frederich I De Luxembourg LUXEMBOURG Count In and Countess Otgive Countess of Luxembourg GLEIBERG. He had a brother named Hermann I of SALM. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 47 on August 8th, 1086 in On Return From Pilgrimage To Jerusalem.¹

- Conrad I, Count of Luxembourg (c. 1040 ? 8 August 1086) was count of Luxembourg (1059-1086), succeeding his father Giselbert of Luxembourg.
  
  He was embroiled in an argument with the archbishop of Trier as to the abbaye Saint-Maximin in Trier which he had avowed. The archbishop excommunicated him Conrad had to make honourable amends and set out on pilgrimage for Jerusalem. He died in Italy on the return journey.
  
  He founded many abbeys:
  
  the abbaye d'Orval in 1070, with Arnoul I, count of Chiny.
