Violet was born in 1892.1  Violet's father was Charles Eden HUGHES and her mother was Croesonia Washington EVANS.  Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Eden HUGHES and Sarah Judson REEVE. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Clifford, Charles, Matilda and Lilly.  She was the fourth oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 87 in 1979.2
