James Edward Chessor

James Edward's father was Adam J. Chessor and his mother was Lucy Ann Bates. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Chessor and Evaline Coble; his maternal grandparents are Torence Carter Bates and Martha Whitwell. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Charley Adam, William Robert, Samuel Milton Brown, John Wesley, George Washington, Minne Lea, David Armstrong, Noah Lafayette, Mary Mageline, Evelyn, Sarah Fannie and Sallie Jane.
