Female Mary E. J. Joy

Mary E. J. was born in 1843 in St. Mary's Co., MD.1   Mary E. J.'s father was Edward Barton Joy and her mother was Elpha Isabella Raley.  Her paternal grandparents were Ignatius Joy and Dorothy Drury; her maternal grandparents were John Raley and Elefred Drury. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Edmond Barton, Samuel, Joseph W, James Walter, Ann Priscilla, Thomas Franklin, Henrietta, Elizabeth Attaway and Francis.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-sister named Sarah Ann.  She died at the age of 74 on February 19th, 1917 in St Marys, St Mary's, Maryland, United States.
