Peder was born in 1798.  Peder's father was Anton Larson and his mother was Ragnille Borresdotter.  His paternal grandparents were Lars Olson and Anne Antonsdotter; his maternal grandparents were Borge Ellingson and Brite Olsdotter. He had three brothers and a sister, named Ole, Bertel, Anders and Brite.  He was the oldest of the five children.
