Vivian Peter was born in 1908.  Vivian Peter's father was Peter John van Blerk and his mother was Regina Eliza Barry (van Blerk).  His paternal grandparents were Johannes x van Blerk and Margaret (van Blerck). He had a brother and a sister, named Percival Harry and Cora Regina.  He was the oldest of the three children.
