Johanna Catharina was born in 1747 in Stellenbosch. Johanna Catharina's father was Johannes Cats and her mother was Catriena Groenewald (Cats). She was an only child. She died at the age of 29 on January 20th, 1776 in Stellenbosch.General Notes

The Cats family was quite promonent in the Stellenbosch District. The forefather Jan Cats was the town and district doctor of Stellenbosch. He married Petronella Cloete, daughter of Jan Cloete, in 1738 and lived on a erf in Dorp street, Stellenbosch from 1737 to 1756.
