Fanny was born in 1860 in Michelmersh, Hampshire.  Fanny's father was Henry VERE and her mother was Harriet WREN.  Her maternal grandparents were Joshua WREN and Charlotte NOYCE. She had three brothers and a sister, named Frederick, Ambrose, Walter and Alice.  She was the youngest of the five children.
