Rose was born in 1878 in Capel, Kent.  Rose's father was James Thomas STANLEY and her mother was Charlotte.  Her paternal grandparents were William STANLEY and Lucy BOORMAN. She had a brother named Franklin John.  She was the younger of the two children.
