Herbert James was born on December 8th, 1891 in Burston, Norfolk, England.  Herbert James' father was Clark POTTER and his mother was Alice LAWS.  His paternal grandparents were George POTTER and Elizabeth BALE. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Ezra Bale, William Leonard, Ernest George, Reginald Robert R, Lancelot Edwin C, Walter Dennis, Margaret Elizabeth, Matilda Kate Jubilee, Roberta Adela and Beatrice Maud.  He died at the age of 88 in 1979 in Leicestershire Central District.
