James Durdant was born on January 8th, 1850 in Shoreditch, Middlesex.  James Durdant's father was James Durdant PEAD and his mother was Elizabeth LOCKYER.  His maternal grandparents were Richard LOCKYER and Elizabeth Catherine MILLER. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Sarah Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 73 in 1923 in Bethnal Green District.
