Mary was born in 1674 in East Sutton, Kent.  Mary's father was Alexander BONNY and her mother was Martha BUTCHER.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas BONNY and Elizabeth EARLE; her maternal grandparents were Abraham BUTCHER and Mary WILSON. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Alexander, Matthew, Anne and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the six children.
